This is a little Australian history about the relationship between the whites and the aboriginals. Australia, like the US and Canada was a British colony and the British just marched in and claimed the land for the British throne and pushed the local people out of the way. There was the inevitable conflict between the local people and the invaders. Damien told us this whole story as were driving to the park. It was easy to hear which side he was on. He was disappointed that the story is not well known throughout Australia. The episode from that time period in history that captures the imagination of Australians is the story of Ned Kelly, who was a bandit along the lines of Billy the Kid or John Dillinger.
